Even after enabling aptx in delveloper options,codec is going back to sbc or aac and before someone asks,yes,the headphones fully support aptx and tested with three different aptx certified bluetooth devices -none of them are working with note 8 pro with aptx rolling back to sbc or aac. I purchased a redmi note 7 a few months ago and i have realized that whenever i use an audio bluetooth device it's always conected with the sbc codecs, i try to change them through developer options but it always get back to sbc redmi note 7 is allegedly able to use aac, aptx, aptx-hd, ldac. Certain true wireless earphones have connection issues when aac or eg aptx is used. there are constantly short interruptions. switching to sbc codec fixed that problem for me. then i also tried disconnecting my huawei smartwatch and that fully fixed the problem, no matter what bluetooth codec is in use. velbet | from redmi note 8 pro #20.
